One summer before school had begun I thought it might be "fun" to see behind the scenes in movie making. I worked as
an extra in the film Quiz Show. It was shot in NYC at the City Museum of New York up next to the Museum of Natural History.
First mistake, I had to look as if I was from the fifties so I had to shave my facial hair. Next , "wardrobe" fitted me with
a fifties style suit, ok cool except for the fact it was summer and the material was wool!!!. Hours of waiting in an auditorium
to be called upstairs at the Congressional hearing scene. I finally cracked at one lunch break and bought a disposable camera
which I snuck on the set. hehe. The next day EVERYONE showed up with cameras causing Redford the director to give us a little
lecture. I would NEVER do extra work again. Five days of agony. (and by the way Ralph Fiennes is the biggest jerk you could
ever meet.) Hank Azara was cool and it was fun meeting Paul Scofield. Alas not even my shiney little head was shown in the
movie. sigh.
