YEP THAT BLONDE TWINK IS ME Ü

provincetown-looking-north.jpg

I just got this email today 3/24/03, I had lost track of George during my move to RI.
Hi Douglas,
I just got your message forwarded to me about George Littrell. He passed away 3 years ago in Florida. His friends had him cremated and had his ashes brought to Provincetown.
I did get to meet George in 1993, when he came to stay at The Brass Key as my guest. He had a great number of stories about George's Inn. I think he was thrilled with the way the building had been renovated and that the atmosphere encouraged guests to get to know each other.

my thank you reply
i thank you so much, i know he LOVED the way you guys had renovated his place. i have fond memories of ptown, i was a stupid little 18 year old twink when George took me under his wing.(my gay mom, non-sexual) what a wonderful way to come out, i met a couple that had been together for fifty years. role models galore!!!
i remember George was thrilled to bring you folks a brass key he had found.
thanks for the info. i sort of knew that it probably was going to be bad news. BUT
the idea that his ashes are scattered down there is soothing. He would always get up really early, set up the urn of coffee and walk down the hill thru the rite of way at the end of the street and meditate on the beach. i hope that is where his ashes are.
thanks again and i wish you a PROSPEROUS season this year.

ciao , doug b.
I really hope they spread the ashes at George's quiet place on the beach. I was lucky enough to share with him the serenity of that spot as he invited me to come along.  It is good to think that he is really a part of the Cape now. I will always have fond memories of my mentor. Thanks George for all you did for me. You helped shape my life.
